Academy for Innovation & Entrepreneurship
A signature initiative to infuse UMD with a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across all colleges, building on the institution's excellence as a research university. Our mission is to support both the curricular and experiential education of all students so that they are inspired and empowered to translate creative ideas into enterprising solutions that solve problems whether economic, societal, technological, or cultural and thereby create value. A leader in research and education in environmentally responsible, economically feasible integrated energy conversion systems for buildings and transportation. Serves as an advisory group to UMD on research, education, outreach, and economic development as they relate to the environment, both globally and regionally. A major charge to the Council is to coordinate and oversee strategic efforts to place UMD at the forefront of environmental and earth system science. Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center
A joint center between the UMD departments of Atmospheric & Oceanic Science, Geology, Geography, and the Earth Sciences Directorate at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. The goal of ESSIC is to enhance our understanding of how the atmosphere, ocean, land, and biosphere components of the Earth interact as a coupled system and influence human activities on this system. EFC believes that environmental finance can be used to develop a shared community vision. Our focus is protecting natural resources and watersheds by strengthening the capacity of local decision-makers to analyze environmental problems, develop innovative and effective methods of financing environmental efforts and educate communities about the role of finance and economic development in the protection of the environment. |

A mobile food truck servicing only the UMD campus. We will be featuring local, sustainable cuisine with biweekly menu changes. Executive Chef William Rogers and his team are excited to showcase their culinary talents and work with local farmers. Joint Global Change Research Institute
